FREE CSS TEMPLATES

Privacy Policy

Last updated: October 30, 2026.

This notice explains how Free CSS Templates handles information when you browse the template catalog, save favorites, request a download, or subscribe to our emails. For questions or requests about your information, contact [email protected].

Browsing the website

Our hosting and security services process ordinary request information, including IP addresses, requested URLs, browser information, and request times, to deliver the website, prevent abuse, and investigate technical problems.

Your favorites

Favorites are stored using local storage in your browser under freecss:favorites:v1. The catalog does not send your saved template IDs to a favorites account or database. Favorites are specific to your browser and device. Remove a saved template using its heart button, or clear this website’s browser storage to remove the whole list.

Email subscriptions

If you subscribe, we process your email address, your consent, and the signup source to manage your subscription. We use Sendy at sendy.colorlib.com to manage the dedicated Free CSS Templates newsletter list and our email delivery services to deliver messages. The form requires your agreement to receive template emails, guides, and occasional product updates. We ask you to confirm your email before joining the active mailing list.

You can unsubscribe using the link in our emails or contact us at the address above. Subscription records are kept while needed to manage your preferences and delivery. Some records may remain after unsubscribing to honor your opt-out or prevent further unwanted email.

To protect the signup form, we temporarily count requests using a server-side hash derived from the request’s IP address. These rate-limit counters expire after 15 minutes.

Email-verified template downloads

Free downloads require a working email address. We send a transactional link that lasts 24 hours. Following the link displays a confirmation page; choosing Download confirms the address and starts the selected ZIP. An email preview alone does not confirm a subscription or count as a download. No account is created.

Newsletter signup on the download form is optional and unchecked by default. Downloads work without selecting it. If you select it and confirm your download, we add your address to the separate Free CSS Templates – Template Downloads list in Sendy. This is separate from the homepage newsletter list. You can unsubscribe using the link in those emails.

We record the template, HTML or Astro edition, release version, request and confirmation times, download starts, the newsletter choice and the wording shown when you opted in. Repeat downloads remain separate transfer events so we can distinguish them from a first confirmed request. These records help us understand which templates and editions people use. A download start does not prove the browser completed or saved the file.

We capture an approximate country from trusted Cloudflare request information and region/city when that service supplies them. These are IP-based estimates, not GPS or a precise address. Missing location information is recorded as unknown; we do not substitute the hosting server’s location. For newsletter opt-ins, the visitor IP and country are passed to Sendy so it can record the correct signup source.

Download requests contain the address you entered and an encrypted visitor IP for attribution and abuse protection. Only a hash of the verification token is stored in our database. Expired pending IP data is cleared during daily maintenance; unconfirmed requests are removed after seven days. Email addresses and network identifiers in confirmed download records are removed after 90 days. The remaining template, edition, campaign, approximate location and event records are retained for up to two years. Sendy separately retains newsletter and suppression records as described above.

Campaign parameters (UTM source, medium, campaign, content and term) and a referring hostname may be associated with the request. A small session-storage entry, freecss:download-attribution:v1, carries those values between pages in the same browser session. It does not store the email or a download token. No full external referring URL is retained in this attribution entry.

Verification pages and ZIP responses are private and uncached. Download reports are available only to authorized administrators and CSV exports contain aggregate template counts, not email addresses, IP addresses or verification links. Contact [email protected] for access or deletion requests. Email unsubscribe does not erase an existing download-history record automatically; you can request deletion separately.

Links and live previews

Template pricing, downloads, and live previews may open Colorlib or another author’s website. Those websites handle information under their own policies. Our catalog does not embed live demos automatically; opening an external preview sends a request to that external website.

Your choices

You can browse without joining the mailing list. You can clear favorites from your browser and unsubscribe from email at any time. Contact us to ask about accessing, correcting, or deleting information you have provided. We may need to verify your request before acting on it.
