Before you hand over the keys.

A few practical questions can make the visit easier to organise.

A list to take with you

Plan the handover.

Use these prompts when speaking to the actual workshop. They organise the conversation; they do not assess your vehicle or book a visit.

  1. 01

Confirm the agreed arrival time and who to ask for.

  2. 02

Ask which vehicle details or service records are useful.

  3. 03

Describe the work you want to discuss in your own words.

  4. 04

Confirm the inspection scope and any assessment fee.

  5. 05

Agree how findings and additional work will be approved.

  6. 06

Ask about collection, access and any transport arrangements.

  7. 07

Confirm how the workshop will contact you during the visit.

  8. 08

Ask what written record of the agreed work will be provided.

Workshop visit questions.

What should I put in the first enquiry?

A service area, contact preference and optional make/model are enough to start. Do not include registration, VIN, payment information or documents. The real workshop can explain what it needs next.

Is a preferred day a confirmed appointment?

No. The form only prepares an email draft. A real provider must confirm the scope, availability, arrival details and any price directly.

Should I choose a service if I am not sure?

You can choose Help choosing a service. The finder only filters the descriptions and cannot diagnose a fault or recommend work for your vehicle.

How is additional work agreed?

Ask the workshop to explain its approval process before the visit. Agree who it should contact and how a changed scope or price will be discussed.

Can I arrange transport or collection?

Ask the real workshop about access, collection and transport arrangements. None is offered or checked by this fictional demonstration.

What should happen at collection?

Ask for an explanation of the agreed work and the record supplied, and confirm the collection arrangements. Any questions about actual vehicle condition should go to the service provider.
