Electrical work for homes & small businesses[email protected]

Agree the work. Know the next step.

A practical outline from the first conversation to the final handover.

The process

Work through the details in order.

  1. Describe the project

Explain the intended use, property type and broad location. An initial enquiry opens the conversation; it does not book attendance.

  2. Establish the scope

The contractor decides what assessment or investigation is needed. Confirm any charge for that stage before proceeding.

  3. Review the quotation

Check labour, materials, tax, travel, access, making good, documentation and exclusions. Agree the proposed dates and payment terms.

  4. Handle changes clearly

If further work is identified, ask for an explanation and an agreed change before it is included. Keep the written scope current.

  5. Complete the handover

Confirm what was completed and which records, instructions or follow-up arrangements apply to the specific job.

Before agreeing

Questions to keep in view.

What is included?

Are fittings, access equipment and making good included? Which parts depend on further investigation?

Who is responsible?

Who coordinates access, other trades, occupants and any site-specific permissions or requirements?

What if it changes?

How will additional work, delays and revised costs be communicated and agreed?

Next step

Start with a conversation.

Describe the work and the property in general terms. Agree the scope and price directly.
