Start with a measured plan

Compare storage footprints at a shared scale and switch square feet to square metres. Measure your items and confirm clearances with the operator.

Same scale. Different floor areas.

The diagrams use the same scale: each grid square is one square foot. This comparison describes floor area only. It does not calculate packing capacity, stacking height or whether an item passes through a door.

5 ft × 5 ft1 grid square = 1 sq ft

5 × 5 ft

25 sq ft

5 ft × 7 ft1 grid square = 1 sq ft

5 × 7 ft

35 sq ft

5 ft × 10 ft1 grid square = 1 sq ft

5 × 10 ft

50 sq ft

7.5 ft × 10 ft1 grid square = 1 sq ft

7.5 × 10 ft

75 sq ft

10 ft × 10 ft1 grid square = 1 sq ft

10 × 10 ft

100 sq ft

10 ft × 15 ft1 grid square = 1 sq ft

10 × 15 ft

150 sq ft

Conversion: 1 square foot = 0.09290304 square metres. Display rounded to two decimal places. Actual usable dimensions may differ.

Make your own measured list

Write down dimensions

Measure the actual items you plan to store, including any packaging. Note items that cannot be stacked or turned.

Allow for access

Decide whether you will need to retrieve individual items. Ask the operator about a practical layout rather than assuming a fully packed footprint.

View before deciding

Take your list to a visit and check the actual door, unit dimensions and route. Confirm the operator’s terms for your intended use.
