Preparing for a first conversation.

A practical question list about services, scope and communication.

A first conversation is easier to organise when you know what you want to ask about the service and the arrangements. You can prepare those questions without putting private case details into a website enquiry.

Begin with the service area.

Look at the provider’s stated services and decide which one you want to ask about. A general enquiry can ask whether that service is offered and how an initial discussion is arranged.

Ask about the proposed scope.

Keep a note of the questions you want answered: which work would be included, what would be separate, who would handle it and how any change would be discussed. The actual provider must explain its own scope and terms.

Include the practical fee questions.

Ask how an estimate would be presented, which assumptions or expenses need explanation and how billing arrangements are set out. This article supplies no price, fee entitlement or applicable-law guidance.

Agree the communication route.

Ask who will respond, how a meeting or call is arranged and which approved channel to use if information is requested later. This demonstration has no secure document service or case-intake function.

Distinguish an enquiry from the next agreement.

Ask the provider to explain what happens after first contact and how it confirms any formal engagement. The email-draft action on this template sends nothing and accepts no instructions.

This article is about organising practical questions. It does not explain legal rights, procedure, deadlines, documents or the handling of a particular matter.
