About Waymark Travel
Waymark Travel is a nine-page tour operator template with a conventional agency header, scenic homepage and prominent trip search. Blue, yellow, Poppins headings and Nunito Sans reading text give it a modern travel-theme character. Every sample trip has a full separate itinerary page, and the trip collection supports useful filters and side-by-side comparison.
Best suited to: Small tour operators and travel planners maintaining a limited collection of trips with clear itinerary information and personal enquiries.

What’s in the design
- Home uses a conventional white header with a blue brand block, scenic Algarve hero, yellow actions, a destination/activity/duration search strip and a three-trip grid. Poppins headings and Nunito Sans body text are served locally.
- Trips contains Portugal Coast (4 days), Lake Garda (6 days) and Slovenia (8 days). Destination, activity and maximum-duration filters combine, read allowed homepage query parameters, announce counts and provide empty/reset states.
- Visitors can compare up to three sample trips in a captioned table: country, days, activity, proposed base, pace, meals and per-person price. Selection stays in memory on the current page; clear comparison removes it.
- Each trip has a full separate page with a destination image, practical facts, day-by-day itinerary, explicit inclusions/exclusions, sample price basis and trip-specific enquiry. Print styles present the itinerary without the navigation or enquiry sidebar.
- Planning & FAQ covers questions about trip scope, transport, price basis, access and arrangements. Destination links point to Visit Portugal, Visit Garda and the Slovenian Tourist Board; the sample programmes are not their products.
- Contact preselects the trip and validates name, email, 1–12 travellers and an optional future/current month. It creates an email draft only. No live departures, payments, confirmed availability or travel-protection badges are implied.

How trip comparison and enquiries work
Comparison stores selected trip IDs only in current-page memory. It does not create accounts, save a trip across visits or transmit data. Clear comparison resets the selection. The table compares the sample offers on the same per-person, flights-excluded basis.
Trip enquiry links preselect an allowed trip. Name, email and group size use native validation; JavaScript sets the minimum optional travel month. The form creates an encoded mailto draft, not a booking or sent message. Visitors review and send it themselves. Replace [email protected] before launch; the reserved sample mailbox cannot receive email.
Set up the Astro edition
Extract the source ZIP and run these commands from its folder:
npm ci
npm run dev
npm run check
npm run build
The build produces a dist/ folder for static hosting. The source includes its shared template kit under vendor/template-kit, so it builds independently of our development workspace. Astro 7.4.4 and the Astro checker 0.9.12 are pinned; TypeScript 6.0.3 is the latest supported by that checker’s declared peer range.
Before you launch
- Choose HTML for direct editing or Astro for shared layouts and source-driven content.
- Replace the fictional identity, reserved .example email, office details and all sample trip arrangements and prices with accurate operator information.
- Edit src/site.ts, page compositions in src/pages/, src/theme.css and src/browser.js. Keep trip IDs and Contact select options aligned when changing the inventory.
- Replace imagery with licensed photographs; update image variants, src/images.json, alt text and ASSETS.md together.
- Set PUBLIC_SITE_URL to the real domain/folder URL with a trailing slash to generate canonical/social metadata and a 8-page sitemap. Leave PUBLIC_PREVIEW unset for production.
- Upload the full HTML folder or Astro dist/. Configure unknown paths to return 404.html with HTTP 404. Test email drafts or connect a separately tested delivery backend.
A static three-trip collection. No live inventory, departures, transport schedules, booking checkout, payments, protection membership or delivery backend. Comparison is temporary current-page state. All itineraries/prices require operator verification.

Release verification
All 9 pages were checked at 320px without horizontal document overflow. Filters, reset/empty states, allowed enquiry preselection, native field validation, email-draft encoding and keyboard image viewing were tested. Both extracted source downloads passed independent install, type-check and production builds with exact HTML parity. Automated audit evidence is recorded with the source; laboratory scores do not establish full accessibility compliance or guarantee performance after customization.
Version 1.0.0, reviewed 30 October 2026. Live preview. Plain HTML checksum. Standalone Astro source checksum. Waymark is a fictional agency. Itineraries, prices and office details are illustrative; no departures or availability are confirmed.
