About Westgate Auto

Westgate Auto is a nine-page local-workshop template with a white/rust masthead, charcoal, condensed headings and workshop photography. A compact introduction and white service-choice panel lead to a useful service directory. Two full service details, business-vehicle coordination and printable visit questions give the inner pages concrete roles.

Best suited to: Independent garages and local vehicle-service workshops that need practical service descriptions, visit information and a first-enquiry route.

What’s in the design

  • The directory contains six substantial scopes: routine servicing, seasonal visit planning, tyres/brakes, suspension/steering, electrical enquiries and air-conditioning enquiries. Area and text filters combine with allowed area preselection, announced counts, empty state and reset.
  • Routine Servicing and Tyres & Brakes each have a full separate page. They explain scope, information to discuss, price/approval questions and handover responsibilities. Four other scopes have detailed directory descriptions and enquiry links.
  • Fleet Support explains vehicle-group, point-of-contact, scheduling and approval questions. Its enquiry link preselects business/fleet support rather than creating a contract or allocating workshop time.
  • Your Visit contains eight printable handover questions, arrival/contact examples and native FAQs. The print view omits navigation/actions/sidebar and opens/restores FAQ answers.
  • Our Workshop includes three licensed images in a native modal viewer with Previous/Next, arrow keys, Escape and focus return. Direct full-image links remain available without JavaScript.
  • The structured contact form preselects allowed service/type values, validates name/email and allows optional make/model plus preferred day/contact. It has no registration/VIN lookup, document upload or diagnostic questionnaire.

Verified page layouts

These 9 pages are included in both archives. Each link opens the live preview.

How service finding and workshop enquiries work

The finder filters written scopes only. It cannot assess vehicle condition, identify a fault, establish compatibility or recommend repairs. A real workshop must confirm its capabilities and an appropriate scope for the actual vehicle.

Service and fleet links accept allowed values in the Contact selects. Optional vehicle make/model is limited to 100 characters; preferred day and contact route are fixed options. No registration, VIN, payment details or documents are needed.

Submit creates a reviewable encoded email draft. Nothing is sent, stored, booked, assessed or commissioned. Replace [email protected] before publishing. A real provider must confirm scope, availability, price and arrival details directly.

Set up the Astro edition

Extract the source ZIP and run these commands from its folder:

npm ci
npm run dev
npm run check
npm run build

The build produces a dist/ folder for static hosting. The source includes its shared template kit under vendor/template-kit, so it builds independently of our development workspace. Astro 7.4.4 and the Astro checker 0.9.12 are pinned; TypeScript 6.0.3 is the latest supported by that checker’s declared peer range.

Before you launch

  • Choose HTML for direct file editing, or Astro for shared layouts and source-driven content.
  • Replace workshop capabilities, service scopes, address, hours, visit information and staff facts with accurate information. Photographs must not imply fabricated completed work or qualifications.
  • Edit six scopes and eight visit questions in src/site.ts. Keep service IDs aligned with Contact options. Test area/text filters, empty/reset states, enquiry preselection, gallery keys and print behavior.
  • Replace imagery with licensed content. Keep responsive variants, intrinsic dimensions, alt text and ASSETS.md credits aligned.
  • Set PUBLIC_SITE_URL to the real domain/folder URL with a trailing slash for canonical/social metadata, robots.txt and a 8-page sitemap. Leave PUBLIC_PREVIEW unset for production.
  • Upload the entire HTML folder or Astro dist/. Configure unknown paths to return 404.html with HTTP 404. Test enquiries or configure a separately tested delivery route if direct sending is required.

A static garage website with no vehicle assessment, automated diagnosis, parts compatibility, registration/VIN lookup, universal service schedule, driving/repair instructions, MOT authorisation, live slots, payment or delivery backend.

License and assets

The original template code is released under the included MIT license. It permits personal and commercial use; retain the license notice when redistributing the code. Visible footer attribution is optional.

Workshop photographs are by Kate Ibragimova, Jimmy Nilsson Masth and Nina Mercado under the Unsplash License. They illustrate separate workshops rather than Westgate staff, premises or completed work. Original Google Fonts Roboto and Roboto Condensed WOFF2 files retain SIL OFL notices; the original W mark and code are MIT. Unsplash License. Full asset credits.

Release verification

The page inventory and screenshots document the included layouts. The HTML and independent Astro editions contain the same design, local assets and license notices. Build, browser and laboratory-audit evidence is kept with the release source. Automated scores do not establish complete accessibility compliance or guarantee performance after customization.

Version 1.0.0, reviewed 30 October 2026. Live preview. Plain HTML checksum. Standalone Astro source checksum. Westgate is a fictional workshop. Service scopes, hours and office details are examples; no diagnosis, authorisation, repair result, price or booking is confirmed.

GOOD DESIGN, OCCASIONALLY.
