About Whitmore Legal
Whitmore Legal is a nine-page legal-practice template with navy, warm paper, a conventional practice masthead and locally served Libre Baskerville/Public Sans. It gives service scope, client-care questions and practical preparation their own pages. One residential-property detail and one complete preparation article connect a six-service collection to a general enquiry route.
Best suited to: Small legal practices presenting clear service scopes, first-conversation information and accurate client-care arrangements.

What’s in the design
- Services contains six illustrative scopes: three personal and three business. Audience filters show six or three, announce counts and reset to all. Residential Property is the one complete separate service detail; five other scopes have descriptive cards and enquiry links.
- The residential-property page explains questions about proposed scope, stages, responsibilities and an estimate. It does not explain applicable law, legal procedure, deadlines or rights.
- Fees & Client Care presents questions about a written scope, exclusions, expenses, responsibilities and communication. It does not invent a binding price, free consultation or regulatory status.
- Resources contains three original practical notes: one complete preparation article and two short client-care notes. Category controls separate preparation from client-care material.
- The preparation article has eight temporary checklist items, a live checked count, Clear ticks and print behavior. No server/account or browser storage is used; a browser may restore ordinary form state during navigation.
- Contact accepts allowed service preselection and fixed enquiry-purpose/contact choices. Required name/email use native validation. No case narrative, document upload, property address or confidential intake field is included.

How general enquiries and preparation work
The enquiry remains general: a service interest, an enquiry purpose and contact preference. It validates name/email and accepts only included service IDs. There is no unrestricted message field or upload for confidential material.
Submit prepares a reviewable encoded mailto draft. Nothing is sent, stored, accepted as instructions or confirmed as advice, an appointment or professional engagement. Replace [email protected] before publishing; the reserved mailbox cannot receive mail.
Checklist ticks stay on the current page. Clear ticks explicitly resets them, and print behavior provides a preparation aid. This is not a document-submission or client-record system.
Set up the Astro edition
Extract the source ZIP and run these commands from its folder:
npm ci
npm run dev
npm run check
npm run build
The build produces a dist/ folder for static hosting. The source includes its shared template kit under vendor/template-kit, so it builds independently of our development workspace. Astro 7.4.4 and the Astro checker 0.9.12 are pinned; TypeScript 6.0.3 is the latest supported by that checker’s declared peer range.
Before you launch
- Choose HTML for direct file editing, or Astro for shared layouts and source-driven content.
- Publish accurate services, scope, fee basis, staff qualifications, relevant regulatory/client-care information and contact details. Keep confidential material out of this demonstration enquiry.
- Edit six service scopes, three resources and eight checklist items in src/site.ts. Keep IDs aligned with enquiries and verify audience/resource filters, checklist reset and print.
- Replace imagery with licensed content. Keep responsive variants, intrinsic dimensions, alt text and ASSETS.md credits aligned.
- Set PUBLIC_SITE_URL to the real domain/folder URL with a trailing slash for canonical/social metadata, robots.txt and a 8-page sitemap. Leave PUBLIC_PREVIEW unset for production.
- Upload the entire HTML folder or Astro dist/. Configure unknown paths to return 404.html with HTTP 404. Test enquiries or configure a separately tested delivery route if direct sending is required.
A static practice website without legal advice, procedures, deadlines, rights assessment, legal documents, confidential intake, professional engagement or message-delivery backend. Sample scopes and client-care information require accurate jurisdiction-specific replacement.

Release verification
