Delivery & care
Make space. Take care.
A few measurements and the right questions make it easier to plan for a new piece.
Before arranging delivery
Measure the full route, not just the final room. A doorway may be wide enough on its own while a tight turn beyond it makes access difficult.
- Note door, corridor, lift and stair widths.
- Check corners, handrails and low ceilings.
- Ask for packaged dimensions and weight.
- Confirm whether legs or other parts can be removed.
- Tell the supplier about parking and access restrictions.
- Agree who will assemble and remove packaging.
Keep photographs of any tight sections ready for discussion. Do not assume that a supplier can carry out alterations or specialist lifting.
Care starts with the actual finish.
Follow the care instructions supplied with the real product. Materials and finishes can need different products and methods; a photograph cannot establish what is suitable.
What should I ask about cleaning?
Ask which cloths and cleaning products are approved, how spills should be handled and which products could damage the finish. Keep the written instructions with the purchase information.
What about heat, moisture and sunlight?
Ask the supplier about protective mats, surface exposure, placement near heat sources and expected colour change. The sample pieces carry no tested resistance claims.
Can a worn surface be repaired?
Repair options depend on construction and finish. Confirm whether refinishing is possible and who should carry it out before using abrasives, oils or other treatments.
