About Pinebank Camping
Pinebank uses lake blue, white, olive and sand, with a compact traditional campsite identity and local Alegreya/Source Sans 3 derivatives. A short title and introduction sit above panoramic camping photography. Pitch directories, practical facility questions and an arrival checklist give its ten pages a clear purpose beyond the homepage.
Best suited to: Small campsites and touring operators presenting verified pitch options, facility information and general stay enquiries.

What’s in the design
- The ten-page set includes Home, About, Stay Options, Meadow Tent Pitch, Touring Pitch, Facilities, Around the Area, Before You Arrive, Contact and 404.
- Stay Options combines stay-type and electric-option filters with a live count, reset and empty state. Meadow and Touring have complete profiles; Woodland is an enquiry-only concept.
- Both pitch profiles explain the practical space, vehicle, connection and arrival questions to settle directly. No unverified dimensions, capacity, price or inventory is invented.
- Facilities separates water/washing, shared spaces, waste/service points and practical access questions. Its captioned image viewer supports arrow keys, Escape and focus return.
- Before You Arrive provides eight temporary checklist items and a browser-print layout. FAQ details expand for printing and then restore their previous state.
- The stay enquiry accepts allowlisted pitch preselection and optional dates. Civil-date arithmetic counts 1–365 nights across daylight-saving changes; an explicit email draft does not check availability or calculate a quote.

How stay enquiries work
The form validates name, email and a general question, then displays a mailto link for the visitor to review in an email application. Nothing is sent, saved, booked or allocated. Replace [email protected] before launch.
Dates may both be omitted; when provided, both are required and departure must be 1–365 calendar nights after arrival. The night count uses validated UTC civil dates, avoiding daylight-saving arithmetic errors. It is an enquiry summary only.
Submit starts hidden and disabled until its handler is attached. Known pitch query values can preselect the subject; other values are ignored. Editing any field hides the outdated draft. Direct email is the no-JavaScript fallback.
Set up the Astro edition
Extract the source ZIP and run these commands from its folder:
npm ci
npm run dev
npm run check
npm run build
The build produces a dist/ folder for static hosting. The source includes its shared template kit under vendor/template-kit, so it builds independently of our development workspace. Astro 7.4.4 and the Astro checker 0.9.12 are pinned; TypeScript 6.0.3 is the latest supported by that checker’s declared peer range.
Before you launch
- Choose HTML for direct file editing, or Astro for shared layouts and source-driven content.
- Replace identity, contact/location, pitch dimensions, vehicle limits, facility facts, prices, arrival windows and terms with verified operator information. Confirm real access, animal/vehicle policies and local-area suggestions before publishing.
- Edit stays, FAQs and checklist in src/site.ts. Keep type/electric IDs and contact options aligned. Test combined filters/reset/empty, allowed and unknown stay queries, required validation, date pairs and 1–365-night bounds including DST/leap dates, stale drafts, viewer keyboard/focus and print behavior.
- Replace imagery with licensed content. Keep responsive variants, intrinsic dimensions, alt text and ASSETS.md credits aligned.
- Set PUBLIC_SITE_URL to the real domain/folder URL with a trailing slash for canonical/social metadata, robots.txt and a 9-page sitemap. Leave PUBLIC_PREVIEW unset for production.
- Upload the entire HTML folder or Astro dist/. Configure unknown paths to return 404.html with HTTP 404. Test enquiries or configure a separately tested delivery route if direct sending is required.
No booking, live inventory/calendar, rate engine, checkout, payment, account, route assessment, safety instructions or message-delivery backend. Electric filter labels describe sample concepts rather than confirmed facilities.
