About Holdfast Self Storage

Holdfast pairs a practical blue-and-white masthead with condensed display headings, warehouse photographs and original measured floor-plan drawings. The home page begins with unit sizes, while complete 25 and 100 sq ft profiles, combined catalogue filters and a shared-scale size guide make the inner pages useful.

Best suited to: Self storage operators presenting accurate unit dimensions, access information, full price terms and practical general enquiries.

What’s in the design

  • Ten complete pages cover Home, Our Facility, Storage Units, 25 sq ft Unit, 100 sq ft Unit, Size Guide, Business Storage, Moving In & Questions, Visit & Storage Enquiry and 404.
  • Six fictional units combine size-band and access-type filters with AND logic, count, reset and empty state. The home page presents a separate three-unit subset; all records remain visible without JavaScript.
  • The 25 and 100 sq ft unit profiles include original floor plans, dimensions, sample calendar-month GBP rents, access examples and explicit questions about usable clearances and complete terms.
  • The Size Guide compares six original SVG footprints at the same scale of 13 diagram units per foot. A square-foot/square-metre selector uses the exact 0.09290304 conversion and rounds area display to two decimals.
  • Business Storage explains useful inventory and operating questions without promising managed stock, security compliance, delivery handling or workspace use. Moving In & Questions provides a printable conversation checklist and native FAQs.
  • Known unit, business and visit subjects preselect validated email drafts, with explicit review, native validation and stale-draft clearing. Nothing is sent, quoted or reserved.

Verified page layouts

These 10 pages are included in both archives. Each link opens the live preview.

How Holdfast enquiries work

The form validates a name, email and question, then displays an encoded mailto review link. It does not send messages or confirm arrangements. Replace [email protected] with a monitored address.

Only existing subject query values preselect options. Unknown values are ignored, and edits hide stale drafts. Submit is initially hidden and disabled until its handler is installed; direct email and no-script guidance remain available.

Set up the Astro edition

Extract the source ZIP and run these commands from its folder:

npm ci
npm run dev
npm run check
npm run build

The build produces a dist/ folder for static hosting. The source includes its shared template kit under vendor/template-kit, so it builds independently of our development workspace. Astro 7.4.4 and the Astro checker 0.9.12 are pinned; TypeScript 6.0.3 is the latest supported by that checker’s declared peer range.

Before you launch

  • Choose HTML for direct file editing, or Astro for shared layouts and source-driven content.
  • Replace unit inventory, prices, dimensions, actual access arrangements, facility information and visit details with accurate authorised records. Publish full rent, tax, deposit, insurance, minimum-term and notice terms; verify any security or environmental claims separately.
  • Edit units and subjects in src/site.ts, catalogue rendering in Units.astro, diagram geometry in Footprint.astro and conversion/filter/enquiry handlers in browser.js. Test units Small + Drive-up for empty state, resets/counts, the separate home subset, square-metre conversion, print questions, known/unknown subjects and stale-draft clearing.
  • Replace imagery with licensed content. Keep responsive variants, intrinsic dimensions, alt text and ASSETS.md credits aligned.
  • Set PUBLIC_SITE_URL to the real domain/folder URL with a trailing slash for canonical/social metadata, robots.txt and a 9-page sitemap. Leave PUBLIC_PREVIEW unset for production.
  • Upload the entire HTML folder or Astro dist/. Configure unknown paths to return 404.html with HTTP 404. Test enquiries or configure a separately tested delivery route if direct sending is required.

No unit reservation, live inventory, guaranteed capacity, price quote, payment, contract, insurance purchase, verified security/climate-control feature, compliance assessment, safety instruction or message-delivery backend.

License and assets

The original template code is released under the included MIT license. It permits personal and commercial use; retain the license notice when redistributing the code. Visible footer attribution is optional.

Warehouse photography by Freek Wolsink and Ryan Klaus retains the Pexels License. Original measured floor-plan drawings, identity, writing and code are MIT. Holdfast Sans and Display are internally renamed Inter and Roboto Condensed derivatives with complete SIL OFL notices. Pexels License. Full asset credits.

Release verification

The page inventory, screenshots and download manifests document the included layouts and assets. The HTML and independent Astro editions contain the same design and license notices. Customization requires its own accessibility, content and performance checks.

Version 1.0.0, reviewed 30 October 2026. Live preview. Plain HTML checksum. Standalone Astro source checksum. Holdfast, its unit inventory, dimensions, access examples, sample rents, address and visit details are fictional. Warehouse photographs show separate locations. Floor area does not establish capacity, usable height, door clearance or access suitability.

GOOD DESIGN, OCCASIONALLY.
