Before a visit

A printable enquiry preparation checklist for recording the requirement, broad area, known equipment and questions to agree with the operator.

Your preparation checklist.

  1. The requirement

Write a short description in your own words. Name the room or fixture and explain what you would like to discuss.

  2. The broad area

Give the town or general area first. The operator can confirm coverage before asking for a precise address.

  3. Equipment you know

Note a make or model only if already available to you. A description is useful even when those details are unknown.

  4. Timing

State any preferred days or constraints. They are requests, not confirmed appointments.

  5. Access questions

Mention practical access or parking questions for the operator to clarify. Keep keys, alarm codes and private records out of an initial email.

  6. Who can approve work

Explain whether you are the owner, tenant, managing agent or business contact. Agree approval and payment responsibilities before work begins.

  7. Scope and costs

Ask what assessment, work, parts, exclusions and additional approval would be covered in a written quote.

  8. After the visit

Ask what record of agreed work, care information and follow-up contact you will receive.
