About Tern Living
Tern Living is a ten-page furniture showroom template with warm white, walnut and charcoal, locally served Libre Baskerville/Public Sans, and familiar shop-style navigation. A wide dining photograph sits behind a compact paper-coloured introduction. Room links lead to a regular product grid; substantial chair and table detail pages explain illustrative dimensions, material questions and delivery preparation.
Best suited to: Independent furniture shops, small homeware studios and showrooms presenting a curated collection with product enquiries rather than an online checkout.

What’s in the design
- The collection includes four illustrative pieces: Spindle Dining Chair (TL–01), Round Dining Table (TL–02), Low Living Table (TL–03) and Round Utility Stool (TL–04). Dining/living room, seating/tables and text filters combine with a live result count, reset and an empty state. Allowed room/type/search query values can preselect the controls.
- The chair and dining table have complete separate detail pages. Sample chair dimensions are 440 mm wide, 480 mm deep, 830 mm high and 450 mm seat height. The table concept is 1,100 mm in diameter, 740 mm high, with 650 mm under-top clearance. These are explicitly illustrative specifications, not measured facts about the licensed photographs.
- Each full product detail covers intended setting, fit questions, sample construction/finish, delivery preparation, enquiry routing and related pieces. The low table and utility stool remain enquiry-led collection concepts. No price or stock availability is implied.
- Materials & Finishes separates grain variation, construction, surface finish and care questions. Delivery & Care covers the full access route, packaged dimensions, assembly, charges, terms and written product-care instructions.
- The showroom page provides sample hours, a fictional address, a visit preparation list and questions to confirm about displays and access. Stock showroom imagery is explicitly separate from the fictional premises.
- Product detail photographs and separate room-inspiration images open in a native modal viewer. It supports Previous/Next, arrow keys, Escape, captions and return to the original link. Different images are never presented as finish variants or verified alternative views of one product.

How furniture enquiries work
The product enquiry form accepts required name, email and question fields, plus a product and enquiry topic. An allowlisted product query preselects the matching concept or showroom visit. Unexpected IDs are ignored.
Submit creates an encoded mailto draft link after native validation. The visitor separately opens the email application to review and send it. Editing the form hides the outdated draft. Nothing is stored or sent by the website; replace [email protected] before publishing.
The template does not provide prices, inventory, product certification, checkout, payment, order processing, delivery confirmation or a booked showroom appointment. Confirm real specifications and business arrangements independently.
Set up the Astro edition
Extract the source ZIP and run these commands from its folder:
npm ci
npm run dev
npm run check
npm run build
The build produces a dist/ folder for static hosting. The source includes its shared template kit under vendor/template-kit, so it builds independently of our development workspace. Astro 7.4.4 and the Astro checker 0.9.12 are pinned; TypeScript 6.0.3 is the latest supported by that checker’s declared peer range.
Before you launch
- Choose HTML for direct file editing, or Astro for shared layouts and source-driven content.
- Replace product concepts, measurements, material/finish information, enquiry recipient, showroom address/hours and delivery/care arrangements with verified business facts. Use licensed photographs of the actual products and premises when presenting real inventory.
- Edit product/navigation/gallery records in src/site.ts and keep product IDs aligned with enquiry options and the two detail pages. Specifications are written in chair.html/table.html source pages; update them together with collection data. Verify room/type/text combinations, empty/reset, room query links, gallery keys and allowed product enquiry preselection.
- Replace imagery with licensed content. Keep responsive variants, intrinsic dimensions, alt text and ASSETS.md credits aligned.
- Set PUBLIC_SITE_URL to the real domain/folder URL with a trailing slash for canonical/social metadata, robots.txt and a 9-page sitemap. Leave PUBLIC_PREVIEW unset for production.
- Upload the entire HTML folder or Astro dist/. Configure unknown paths to return 404.html with HTTP 404. Test enquiries or configure a separately tested delivery route if direct sending is required.
A static furniture catalogue and showroom website without live stock, pricing, checkout, orders, payments, appointments, verified product specifications or message-delivery backend. Stock images are not accurate product variants or evidence of premises accessibility.
