About Milestone Driving School
Milestone uses navy, sky blue, white and warm amber with a substantial sans-serif identity. A short wide introduction leads into a large car-interior photograph, followed by ordinary course cards and practical learner information. Its layout prioritizes useful comparisons, fee units and preparation questions.
Best suited to: Local driving schools presenting verified lesson options and general learner enquiries.

What’s in the design
- Ten complete pages cover Home, Our School, Courses, Manual Lessons, Automatic Lessons, Lesson Prices & Packages, Your First Lesson, Areas & Questions, Contact & Lesson Enquiry and 404.
- Five course routes combine transmission and learner-stage filters with live count, reset and an empty state. All remain visible without JavaScript.
- Manual and automatic lessons each have a complete profile with format, enquiry steps, scope and practical questions.
- The fee table explicitly labels GBP totals, lesson minutes and ten-hour package equivalents as illustrative examples.
- A printable first-lesson question sheet helps learners prepare a conversation without providing driving instruction.
- The contact form accepts allowlisted course query values and prepares a multiline email draft for explicit review. Editing fields clears stale drafts.

How Milestone lesson enquiries work
The static form prepares an encoded mailto link. Nothing is sent, stored or booked. Replace [email protected] before launching a real school.
Learners can share course preference, name, email and optional broad area. The form discourages licence numbers, dates of birth, health documents, exact addresses and payment information.
The actual school must confirm suitability, documents, instructor, vehicle, coverage, final fees, availability and terms directly. An enquiry does not establish a booking.
Set up the Astro edition
Extract the source ZIP and run these commands from its folder:
npm ci
npm run dev
npm run check
npm run build
The build produces a dist/ folder for static hosting. The source includes its shared template kit under vendor/template-kit, so it builds independently of our development workspace. Astro 7.4.4 and the Astro checker 0.9.12 are pinned; TypeScript 6.0.3 is the latest supported by that checker’s declared peer range.
Before you launch
- Choose HTML for direct file editing, or Astro for shared layouts and source-driven content.
- Replace example identity, contacts, areas, course scope and fee examples with verified operator information. Confirm all instructor, vehicle, documents and written terms outside the static template. Retain clear enquiry-only behaviour.
- Edit courses and prompts in src/site.ts. Keep course IDs aligned with form options and allowlisted values. Test transmission and stage combinations, manual/changing empty state, count/reset, native validation, allowed/unknown query values, multiline encoding, stale-draft clearing and first-lesson print layout.
- Replace imagery with licensed content. Keep responsive variants, intrinsic dimensions, alt text and ASSETS.md credits aligned.
- Set PUBLIC_SITE_URL to the real domain/folder URL with a trailing slash for canonical/social metadata, robots.txt and a 9-page sitemap. Leave PUBLIC_PREVIEW unset for production.
- Upload the entire HTML folder or Astro dist/. Configure unknown paths to return 404.html with HTTP 404. Test enquiries or configure a separately tested delivery route if direct sending is required.
Static enquiries only: no live booking, availability lookup, payment, document collection, driving instruction, legal advice, eligibility assessment, test arrangements or pass guarantee.
License and assets
The original template code is released under the included MIT license. It permits personal and commercial use; retain the license notice when redistributing the code. Visible footer attribution is optional.
Locally served Pexels driving photographs by Erik Mclean and Tim Samuel retain Pexels License notices. Milestone Sans is an internally renamed Barlow subset derivative under SIL OFL with the full notice. Original code, writing and identity are MIT. Pexels License. Full asset credits.
Release verification
The page inventory, screenshots and download manifests document the included layouts and assets. The HTML and independent Astro editions contain the same design and license notices. Customization requires its own accessibility, content and performance checks.
Version 1.0.0, reviewed 30 October 2026. Live preview. Plain HTML checksum. Standalone Astro source checksum. Milestone is fictional. Areas, courses and GBP fees are illustrative. Photographs show separate car interiors, not verified Milestone learners, instructors or vehicles. No credentials, pass outcomes, reviews, availability or appointment is asserted.
