Office moves with a working plan.

Organise an office relocation around inventories, staff responsibilities, equipment handling and the sequence of work.

An office with desks, chairs and shelving

Plan by department, room and priority.

Build an inventory of desks, chairs, storage furniture and boxed contents. Give each item a destination or zone in the new space. Identify the equipment or files that need to be accessible first, and agree a labelling scheme with the people packing.

Put someone in charge at each end.

Choose a move coordinator and site contacts who can answer questions, grant access and check the spaces. Confirm loading times, lift bookings, building management requirements and the route from the vehicle to each room.

Discuss in the scope

  • Department and room inventory
  • Labels and destination plan
  • Loading and building access
  • Delivery sequence and checks

Agree separately

  • IT shutdown and reconnection
  • Secure records and equipment handling
  • Specialist furniture installation
  • Waste removal or storage

Separate the move from the technical work.

Moving equipment does not establish responsibility for data, backups, network setup or electrical work. Agree these tasks with the appropriate providers before the move. Keep confidential records out of this demonstration enquiry.

Check the handover.

Use the destination plan to check that furniture and boxes are in the expected areas. Record any unresolved items with the operator and confirm the next steps before closing the move.
