What’s in the design

• Ten complete pages cover Home, Our Company, Services, Plumbing Repairs, Heating Visits, How We Work, Coverage & Questions, Before a Visit, Contact & Quote Enquiry and 404.
• The Services directory combines type and case-insensitive keyword filters across six illustrative records, with a live count, reset and empty state. All entries remain visible without JavaScript.
• Plumbing Repairs and Heating Visits have complete detail pages with scope questions, responsibility tables, exclusions and subject-aware enquiry links. Other service records lead directly to an enquiry.
• Before a Visit provides eight information-gathering prompts and a browser-print layout with writing lines. It is a conversation aid, not a repair guide or technical procedure.
• The contact form validates required fields and presents an encoded multiline email draft for explicit review. Allowed service query values are accepted; editing a field hides an old draft.
• Native mobile navigation, FAQs and direct email fallback remain available without JavaScript. Submit begins hidden and disabled until enhancement is attached.

How Norwood enquiries work

The form prepares a mailto link for the visitor’s email application. No message is sent, saved, quoted or booked by this static website. Replace [email protected] before using it for a real business.

The initial enquiry asks for a general requirement and optional town or broad area, while discouraging exact addresses, access codes, private records and payment details. It does not diagnose a fault or establish a service price.

The actual operator should separately confirm suitability, coverage, visit purpose, scope, exclusions, cost, authority to approve work and any appointment. Changing a field hides the previous draft.

Set up the Astro edition

Extract the source ZIP and run these commands from its folder:

npm run dev
npm run check
npm run build

The build produces a dist/ folder for static hosting. The source includes its shared template kit under vendor/template-kit, so it builds independently of our development workspace. Astro 7.4.4 and the Astro checker 0.9.12 are pinned; TypeScript 6.0.3 is the latest supported by that checker’s declared peer range.

Before you launch

• Choose HTML for direct file editing, or Astro for shared layouts and source-driven content.
• Replace example identity, contacts, coverage and service scope with verified operator details. Publish registrations, qualifications, professional partnerships and completed-work claims only when substantiated. Retain the distinction between a general enquiry, assessment and agreed work.
• Edit services, FAQs and preparation prompts in src/site.ts. Keep service IDs and enquiry options aligned. Test combined keyword/type filters, empty/reset states, known and unknown query values, required/email validation, multiline draft encoding, edited-draft clearing and print layout.
• Replace imagery with licensed content. Keep responsive variants, intrinsic dimensions, alt text and ASSETS.md credits aligned.
• Set PUBLIC_SITE_URL to the real domain/folder URL with a trailing slash for canonical/social metadata, robots.txt and a 9-page sitemap. Leave PUBLIC_PREVIEW unset for production.
• Upload the entire HTML folder or Astro dist/. Configure unknown paths to return 404.html with HTTP 404. Test enquiries or configure a separately tested delivery route if direct sending is required.

A static general-enquiry website without live pricing, emergency triage, DIY repair instructions, service-area verification, payment, finance, appointment booking, customer accounts or message-delivery backend.

License and assets

The original template code is released under the included MIT license. It permits personal and commercial use; retain the license notice when redistributing the code. Visible footer attribution is optional.

Equipment and plumbing photographs from Pexels retain the Pexels License, with exact photo IDs and source URLs in both downloads. Norwood Sans is a renamed Barlow WOFF2 subset derivative with the full SIL OFL notice. Original code, copy and identity are MIT. Pexels License. Full asset credits.

Release verification

The page inventory, screenshots and download manifests document the included layouts and assets. The HTML and independent Astro editions contain the same design and license notices. Customization requires its own accessibility, content and performance checks.
