About Porter & Lane Removals

Porter & Lane Removals is a ten-page removals template with cream, vermilion and ink, locally served Porter Sans and a conventional service-business header. A wide moving photograph carries a compact introduction, followed by three clear routes for home moves, office moves and preparation. The inner pages explain inventories, access, responsibilities and written scope rather than repeating promotional claims.

Best suited to: Independent removal companies and small relocation businesses presenting home moves, office moves, packing options and storage arrangements through a clear static website.

What’s in the design

  • The Services directory introduces four scopes: home moves, office moves, packing help and storage between moves. A comparison table separates the work to discuss from tasks requiring separate agreement.
  • Home Moves is a complete detail page covering a room-by-room inventory, access at both properties, packing choices, essentials and specialist tasks to agree separately. Its enquiry link preselects the home service.
  • Office Moves is a complete detail page covering department inventories, destination labels, site coordinators, building access, equipment responsibilities and handover checks. It keeps IT and installation responsibilities separate from transport.
  • Packing & Storage has distinct anchored sections for full/part packing and storage between addresses. It identifies materials, labelling, inventory, access and redelivery questions without claiming a verified storage facility.
  • Moving Checklist contains twelve temporary checkboxes across three stages: before a quote, after arrangements and move day. JavaScript adds an announced checked count, clear action and browser printing. No checklist data is stored.
  • Areas & Questions pairs illustrative coverage groupings with six native FAQ disclosures. Contact accepts the included service IDs only and prepares a reviewable email draft after required name, email and move details are valid.

Verified page layouts

These 10 pages are included in both archives. Each link opens the live preview.

How moving enquiries work

The website prepares an encoded mailto draft and reveals an explicit link to open it in the visitor’s email app. Nothing is sent, stored or reserved by the website. Replace [email protected] with a real recipient before publication.

The included home, office, packing and storage service IDs can preselect the enquiry through an allowlisted query parameter. Collection and delivery fields request broad areas only; preferred timing is free text and does not check a date or availability.

A real operator must agree the inventory, access, packing choices, specialist responsibilities, charges, applicable cover and change terms directly. The example content is not a quote, confirmation or contract.

Set up the Astro edition

Extract the source ZIP and run these commands from its folder:

npm ci
npm run dev
npm run check
npm run build

The build produces a dist/ folder for static hosting. The source includes its shared template kit under vendor/template-kit, so it builds independently of our development workspace. Astro 7.4.4 and the Astro checker 0.9.12 are pinned; TypeScript 6.0.3 is the latest supported by that checker’s declared peer range.

Before you launch

  • Choose HTML for direct file editing, or Astro for shared layouts and source-driven content.
  • Replace the fictional identity, demo email, service scopes and coverage groupings with accurate operator information. Publish substantiated business and cover details, agree specialist responsibilities and use licensed photos without presenting stock subjects as your staff.
  • Edit navigation, service records and FAQs in src/site.ts. Keep home, office, packing and storage IDs aligned with enquiry options and links. Test query preselection, required/email validation, multiline draft encoding, checklist count/reset/printing and mobile-menu Escape.
  • Replace imagery with licensed content. Keep responsive variants, intrinsic dimensions, alt text and ASSETS.md credits aligned.
  • Set PUBLIC_SITE_URL to the real domain/folder URL with a trailing slash for canonical/social metadata, robots.txt and a 9-page sitemap. Leave PUBLIC_PREVIEW unset for production.
  • Upload the entire HTML folder or Astro dist/. Configure unknown paths to return 404.html with HTTP 404. Test enquiries or configure a separately tested delivery route if direct sending is required.

A static removal-company website without instant pricing, live van or storage availability, booking, checkout, payments, postcode validation, customer records or a message-delivery backend. Mailto requires a configured email handler.

License and assets

The original template code is released under the included MIT license. It permits personal and commercial use; retain the license notice when redistributing the code. Visible footer attribution is optional.

Moving photographs by RDNE Stock project and office photography by Polina Zimmerman retain the Pexels License. They show separate illustrative scenes, not Porter & Lane staff or completed work. Porter Sans is a renamed local OFL subset derivative of DM Sans, with full upstream notice and derivative details. Original code, copy and SVG identity are MIT. Pexels License. Full asset credits.

Release verification

The page inventory, screenshots and download manifests document the included layouts and assets. The HTML and independent Astro editions contain the same design and license notices. Customization requires its own accessibility, content and performance checks.

Version 1.0.0, reviewed 30 October 2026. Live preview. Plain HTML checksum. Standalone Astro source checksum. Porter & Lane Removals is fictional.
