About Ashcombe Hall
Ashcombe Hall is a ten-page country-house venue template in forest green, ivory and muted brass. A broad manor photograph, restrained serif headings and familiar navigation introduce a space directory, two complete room pages and practical planning information. Local Ashcombe Serif and Sans are renamed OFL derivatives of Libre Caslon Text and Public Sans.
Best suited to: Independent wedding and private-event venues presenting verified room information, hire inclusions, practical viewing information and general enquiries.

What’s in the design
- Spaces presents three illustrative settings: The Garden Room, The Hall and The Grounds. A part-of-the-day filter supports ceremony, reception and gathering choices, an announced count, reset and an accommodation empty state. No bedrooms are included in the sample offer.
- The Garden Room and The Hall each have full detail pages with suggested uses, setup and supplier questions, illustrative seating notes and space-specific enquiry links. The Grounds is a directory scope leading to an enquiry rather than a third complete detail.
- The room figures are explicitly illustrative: up to 60 seated guests for the Garden Room and 100 dining for the Hall. Actual layouts, capacity, permissions and routes require verification; no legal ceremony licence is claimed.
- Captioned licensed photographs open in a native modal image viewer with Previous/Next buttons, arrow-key browsing, Escape and focus return. Direct image links remain usable without JavaScript.
- Packages & Inclusions compares sample Gathering hire and Celebration hire using a captioned table with scoped headers and a named keyboard-focusable horizontal scroll region. It identifies catering, drinks and accommodation as outside the quoted sample scope.
- Visit & Questions contains eight temporary viewing-question checkboxes, an announced count, clear and print controls, followed by native FAQ disclosures. The contact page accepts allowed space preselection, occasion and a broad preferred viewing day.

How viewing enquiries work
The form prepares a reviewable encoded mailto draft, which the visitor chooses whether to open and send through an email app. It does not reserve a date, confirm a viewing, accept terms or receive payment. Replace [email protected] before use.
Space query values are limited to the included space IDs. A viewing-day selection is a preference, not an appointment. Editing a form field hides an obsolete prepared draft.
The room and estate photographs show separately photographed settings. They do not verify one property’s interiors, facilities, completed weddings or permitted use.
Set up the Astro edition
Extract the source ZIP and run these commands from its folder:
npm ci
npm run dev
npm run check
npm run build
The build produces a dist/ folder for static hosting. The source includes its shared template kit under vendor/template-kit, so it builds independently of our development workspace. Astro 7.4.4 and the Astro checker 0.9.12 are pinned; TypeScript 6.0.3 is the latest supported by that checker’s declared peer range.
Before you launch
- Choose HTML for direct file editing, or Astro for shared layouts and source-driven content.
- Replace space identities, room dimensions and capacities, access information, hire scope, supplier responsibilities, viewing arrangements and terms with verified operator details. Use licensed photographs that accurately represent the actual venue.
- Edit three space records, eight viewing questions and FAQs in src/site.ts. Keep use values, space links and contact options aligned. Test filtering and empty/reset, image viewer keys/focus return, print/checklist, allowed enquiry preselection and edited-draft invalidation.
- Replace imagery with licensed content. Keep responsive variants, intrinsic dimensions, alt text and ASSETS.md credits aligned.
- Set PUBLIC_SITE_URL to the real domain/folder URL with a trailing slash for canonical/social metadata, robots.txt and a 9-page sitemap. Leave PUBLIC_PREVIEW unset for production.
- Upload the entire HTML folder or Astro dist/. Configure unknown paths to return 404.html with HTTP 404. Test enquiries or configure a separately tested delivery route if direct sending is required.
A static venue website with no live dates, provisional holds, booking confirmation, payment, guest records, verified room capacities, ceremony licence, accommodation inventory or message-delivery backend.

Release verification
The page inventory, screenshots and download manifests document the included layouts and assets. The HTML and independent Astro editions contain the same design and license notices. Customization requires its own accessibility, content and performance checks.
Version 1.0.0, reviewed 30 October 2026. Live preview. Plain HTML checksum. Standalone Astro source checksum. Ashcombe Hall is fictional. Room uses, capacities, hire arrangements and location details are illustrative, not verified offers, bookings, awards or ceremony permissions.
